I've always dreamed of studying abroad since I started high school. In sophomore year, I heard about CIEE and was planning to go to China since I've never been to my "home country" and wanted to understand my own cuture in a deeper level. However, I had so much trouble choosing between Beijing, Shanghai, or Nanjing that I gave it up. Junior year rolled around and I applied again, which I'm so glad I did. Because of a friend who went there last year, I chose to study abroad in Nanjing, which is a historical and cultural city in China.
Although Nanjing isn't as populated and well-known as Beijing and Shanghai, I was super interested in Nanjing's history. Not only that, Nanjing has a mixture of old and new. I can't wait to go to China and learn more about myself and the history, culture, and language. I also look foward to making new memories with the people I'll meet while I'm there!
Hi Jina! We're glad you decided where to study abroad and promise you you won't be disappointed by your choice! Sounds amazing!
